Meditative poses unify limbs and structure, stretching musculature to open the body for breath. The yogi believes that the rhythm and depth of each breath draws the mind deeper into a thoughtful state, offering potential release and freedom to achieve enlightenment.
I believe America's current fascination with yoga has its roots in an underlying awareness that we, as a society, have become toxic in many ways. Internally, each of us carry the weight of both personal and community struggle.
In framing these poses as sections, I seek to highlight the smaller components which, in unison, combine to create balance.
